My Bakery Story
My Journey Begins
Hi! My name is Courtney Cordes and I am the proud owner and founder of CC’s Cakes & Creations. My journey has not been without struggles, but I have been blessed to have my wonderful husband, friends and family, who helped make this dream become a reality.
My baking story began when I was five years old, spending time with my mom and Mamaw in the kitchen. I’ve always loved baking for friends and family, even from an early age. However, my passion would have to be put on the “back burner” for a few years.

Early Struggles
When I was 12 years old, I became deathly sick, and to be honest, I didn’t think I would make it...neither did the doctors. That experience was one of the scariest moments of my life.
Over the next nine months, I went back-and-forth to multiple doctors and specialists, and underwent countless tests to discover the cause.
They finally diagnosed me with an auto immune disease called Lupus, which is very uncommon in children. Although it was a relief that they found one of the sources of my problems, they had difficulties treating me at the time, because the medication for that condition had never been used for children.
I would eventually be diagnosed with several conditions including Raynaud's Phenomenon, Hashimoto’s Disease, and a rare condition called Pleva!

My Passion Grew
Although I was tempted to give up on my dream because of my health issues, I knew God had bigger plans for me! Through the encouragement of my family and friends, I didn’t let my diagnoses stop me from doing what I loved!
After a few years, my passion was revived when I started making peanut butter rolls for some friends and family members. After perfecting my recipe, I started getting requests to sell my desserts! For special occasions and holidays, I began selling peanut butter rolls, Oreo balls and buckeyes.

The Decision
In February of 2021, I decided to be an at-home baker. This was when CC’s Cakes & Creations was born! I spent a year baking from home and in December 2021, I moved into a certified kitchen.
After working in that kitchen for one year, my husband and I decided to take the biggest leap of faith we had ever taken. It was time to open our very own bakery! We had exactly one month to get moved in and have everything up and running! We also had to renovate the whole building. It was one of the craziest things my husband and I had ever done, but God got us through it every step of the way! He continues to provide for us even now.

I Love Baking!!
God has allowed me to use my gift of baking to bring joy to so many people. I wish I could say that my health problems disappeared when I opened my bakery, but they did not.
However, I have learned that no cupcake is too big, no cake is too small, and when life throws you lemons, use those lemons to make the best dang lemon meringue pie you’ve ever tasted!
